On Spot Fertilizer Applicator

On Spot Fertilizer Applicator

Zambian inventor Musenga Silwawa developed a fertilizer applicator that releases just the right amount of fertilizer into the ground, reducing farmers' exposure to chemicals and saving time and energy. His invention has two parts: a 15-kilogram backpack for the fertilizer and an applicator arm that operates like a walking stick. The fertilizer flows from the backpack to the arm to the ground. The arm opens a hole in the soil, releases the correct amount of fertilizer, and then buries it with soil.

His innovation is positively impacting millions of small-scale farmers worldwide.
